Ducati motorcycle insurance
Whilst many Ducati models are expensive to buy, there’s no reason why Ducati insurance needs to be something to stress about. Because Ducati is now very much a mainstream manufacturer, there are plenty of UK underwriters willing to insure the bikes, and a host of brokers available to compare Ducati insurance policies.
It's now easier than ever to find the right Ducati motorbike insurance for you. Via Biker insure, you can compare quotes for most Ducati motorcycles - from the best-selling Multistrada V4, to older Ducati models, or even classic bikes of all capacities and styles.
How much is insurance on a Ducati?
Modern Ducatis sit at the top end of the premium motorcycle segment, with prices to match. A base model Panigale V4 for example retails at around £24k, as does a Diavel. V4 Multistradas start at £17.5k. And a base V2 Streetfighter won't see you with much change from £14k.
As such - and commensurate with the performance, Ducati insurance might not be the cheapest option relative to other motorbike manufacturers. But as Ducati's head of design once wryly quoted: "There is no entry level Ferrari!"
Being very much a performance oriented brand (perhaps with the exception of the Scrambler), Ducatis are likely to be more costly to repair or replace in the event of an accident or theft than the competition.

A bit more about Ducati...
Prior to the 1990’s, Ducati had been known as a niche manufacturer of rare and somewhat exotic motorcycles. This changed in 1993 when the Italian marque released the uniquely styled (and very affordable) M900 Monster - a bike that was to prove a runaway sales success for Ducati.
Fortunes began to turn around for the Italian marque throughout the 90’s. This was helped no end by the launch of the iconic Masssimo Tamburini designed Ducati 916 in 1994 – one year after the original M900, and the same year as the Monster’s baby brother - the M600.
Although by no means mainstream bikes, a Sunday biking meet in the mid 90’s wouldn't be complete without the distinctive boom and brrrraaaaapppppp of a Termignoni shod Ducati as it resonated under the generic scream of mainstream four cylinder Japanese bikes.
The 916, and later 996/998 models featured at the time in several Hollywood blockbusters. This was in no small part aided by their incredibly photogenic good looks (some say the best looking motorbike of all time), and helped the brand become more widely recognised outside the traditional motorcycle community. This awareness seemed to stick, and evolved into the cool brand icon that Ducati is today (with a bit of help along the way from Mr Carl Fogarty and some big successes in WSB!).
In more recent years, the Ducati motorcycle brand has established itself as a major player on the UK biking scene – with sales now being led by the Multistrada and Panigale rather than the Monster.
