Who are Devitt Insurance?

Devitts are one of the biggest names in the UK motorcycle insurance industry, providing cover for over 140,000 UK bikers. Devitt's can actually lay claim to being the very first motorcycle insurance specialist in the UK when Howson Foulger Devitt started selling motorbike insurance through dealers in 1936.

Having previously been owned by Churchill (Devitt arranged Churchill motorbike insurance), then RBS, Devitts was bought out by the management and brought back into private hands in 2011. In 2022, Devitts was acquired by American brokerage firm Gallagher, with the two managing directors who oversaw the RBS buyout, remaining with the firm.

Levels of cover

There are three levels of cover to choose from at Devitts, each with an increasing level of optional policy extras:

• Devitt - 90 day EU cover, 10% SBS discount, 24/7 claims line
• Devitt Enhanced - As above, plus legal expenses and RAC roadside breakdown.
• Devitt Evolution - All of the above, plus helmet & leathers and personal accident cover.
