A bit about Ducati before you compare Ducati motorcycle insurance.

Prior to the 1990’s, Ducati had been known as a niche manufacturer of rare and somewhat exotic motorcycles. This changed in 1993 when the Italian marque released the uniquely styled (and very affordable) M900 Monster - a bike that was to prove a runaway sales success for Ducati.

Fortunes began to turn around for the Italian marque throughout the 90’s. This was helped no end by the iconic 916 being launched in 1994 – one year after the original M900, and the same year as the Monster’s baby brother - the M600.

Although by no means mainstream bikes, no Sunday biking meet in the mid 90’s would be complete without the distinctive boom and brrrraaaaapppppp of a Termignoni shod Ducati as it sonically undercut the more generic wail of mainstream four cylinder Japanese bikes.

The 916, and later 996/998 models featured in several Hollywood blockbusters at time. This was in no small part aided by their incredibly photogenic good looks, and helped the brand become more widely recognised outside the traditional motorcycle community. This awareness seemed to stick, and evolved into the cool brand icon that Ducati is today (with a bit of help along the way from Mr Carl Fogarty and some big successes in WSB!).

In more recent years, the Ducati motorcycle brand has established itself as a major player on the UK biking scene – with sales now being led by the Multistrada and Panigale rather than the Monster.

Whilst many Ducati models are expensive to buy, there’s no reason why Ducati insurance needs to be something to stress about. Because Ducati is now very much a mainstream manufacturer, there are loads of UK underwriters willing to insure the machines, and a host of brokers available to compare Ducati insurance policies.

It's now easier than ever to find the right Ducati motorbike insurance for you. At Biker insure, you can compare quotes for all Ducati motorcycles - from the Multistrada V4 (Ducati's best-selling bike), to older Ducati models of all capacities and styles.

How much is insurance on a Ducati?

Modern Ducatis are at the premium end of the premium motorcycles segment - with commensurately high prices. A Panigale V4 S retails at over £27k and as such the bikes are often in higher motorcycle insurance groups.

Being a performance oriented manufacturer (perhaps with the exception of the Scrambler), Ducatis are likely to be more costly to repair or replace in the event of an accident or theft than the competition. As Ducati's head of design recently quoted - "There is no entry level Ferrari!"

Check out the table below to see how much Ducati insurance could cost:

How much does Ducati insurance cost?*

2018 Ducati Multistrada 1200s - £199 Fully Comp

2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 S - £336 Fully Comp

2022 Ducati Monster 937 - £177 Fully Comp

2017 Ducati Scrambler 800 Desert Sled - £78 Fully Comp
